Despacito by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi, and Daddy Yankee became the song that was streamed the most within less than six months. The song was a mix of pop and reggaeton that not only drew attention to Latin Music but also reggaeton. Billboard's Top 100 included four mostly Spanish songs from 2016 and two songs in 2015. But during the peak of Despacito's fame in the year 2017, there were 19 predominantly Spanish tracks that made the top 100. Then in 2020 there were 41. Justin Bieber's bilingual remix Despacito was released in 2017. Soon after, popular artists started collaborating with reggaeton singers. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018), and Madonna collaborated with Maluma to create Medellin. In the year 2020, some Reggaeton artists were complaining about the trend of the genre towards the mainstream. However, a younger generation like Rauw Alejandro was determined to keep the trend going. Rauw Alejandro incorporated elements of other styles and electronic music.
